Elafonisos, Greece

We were supposed to go to Mylos for its beautiful moonscape rock formation landscape, but a day after booking this trip we get to hear that the Dutch government has put all the Greek islands on ‘code orange’ due to Corona, meaning you can only travel there for necessities.

The mainland of Greece is still allowed and since we have plane tickets to Athens, our plans are not canceled but need to change.

We decide to hire a car and explore the peninsula Peloponnese. In our search for the most beautiful beach, we end-up in Elafonisos. Ironically, this turns out to be.. an island. When booking the apartment we had no idea you need to take a ferry to get there. But since the island is too small to even find on the ‘Covid’ map and the boat trip only takes 10 minutes, we decide to go for it.

With no regrets. What a beautiful little island.
